Uniform

We feel that wearing a uniform fosters a feeling of belonging and pride in our school. We believe a uniform allows all pupils, regardless of background, to feel equal to their peers and confident in their appearance. We also believe it is important for activities to be facilitated by specialised and appropriate clothing such as sports-specific attire.

Uniform

We expect all children to wear our school uniform including the school PE kit. Our school uniform is as follows:

All children

  • A royal blue sweatshirt/cardigan with school logo available to purchase via website
  • A white or royal blue polo shirt (school logo optional)
  • Sensible, all-black school shoes
  • Plain grey school trousers, shorts, skirt, pinafore or tailored culottes
  • Plain black, grey, white socks or tights
  • During the summer weather, blue checked dresses may be worn

P.E.

  • Plain, black or navy shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms
  • White round neck t-shirt (school logo optional)
  • School sweatshirt/cardigan for outdoor PE lessons
  • Trainers

All children’s clothing should be clearly marked with your child’s name so that lost items can be easily identified. Children will be asked to wear their PE uniform on their PE days.

St Bees Village School Uniform Policy

Ordering uniform

St Bees Village School is committed to promoting equality and value for money, and to ensuring that no pupil is discriminated against due to their religion or belief, economic circumstances or social and cultural background.

We have tried to keep our uniform affordable and accessible and limit the amount of logoed items. The only logoed item which is required is the school jumper or cardigan – polo shirts and PE T-shirts are optional. These items can be ordered at https://www.border-embroideries.co.uk/schools/st-bees-village-primary-school-1.html

Items such as plain polo and PE T-shirts, grey school clothing and black school shoes are readily available in supermarkets, local shops in nearby towns and online. Our VSA also hold regular pre-loved uniform sales which support families with reducing uniform costs and having a positive impact on the environment.

Our uniform has been designed to ensure pupils wear clothing conducive to a successful learning environment. It is important that our pupils feel a sense of belonging and community through a smart and practical uniform. If you need any support with uniform, please contact the school office.
